Having a quorum present at the meeting last night, the change to the bylaws was approved to move CARA meeting night to the 2nd Thursday of the month from now on.  The next meeting will be on August 8th at Harriet Brown Community Center at 1930.
Dave Hardy KB3RAN resigned as president of CARA last night.  I will continue on as a board member, and PIO, events and media coordinator.  I will be traveling extensively for the rest of the year and it was time for a change in leadership.  Thanks for your support for these past few years and give Bill Hackett N3XMZ your support as he takes over for now.  I am not leaving the club, just stepping back a bit.
In other news, it was decided after trying alternatives to getting the 440 repeater back in-service, to proceed with the original plan to repair/replace the existing antennae and hardline in Prince Frederick.  The $$ was allocated in the past and it's time to get this repeater back on the air.  I'm calling for the Repeater and Working groups to get together soon to iron out differences and move this project forward for the good of the club and community. The membership attending the meeting last night concurs with moving forward.  The 440 machine is not in service at this time.  It was removed from Drum Point EOC on Monday where it did not have the geographic location needed for good coverage.
The EchoLink node will be put back in service soon.  Stand by for further notices.
The club needs a coordinator for presentations and activities for our regular meetings.  This is a part time position contacting persons interested in giving presentatons, talks, demonstrations and such at our Regular meetings.  Now is your chance to make the club more interesting and educational.  If you always thought the club should be doing more of this, now is your chance to make it happen.
National Night Out is August 6th in the evening.  Please consider going as a CARA representative at your local Night Out.  There is one in your community, Monica has lots of CARA brochures and education info on ham radio, ARRL, Emergency Communications and such.  This is a great way to get to meet your neighbors and to promote the club and ham radio.

Signing out for now, 73
Dave HKB3RAN
