[K3CAL] Field Day location and weather

Here is where we will be for Field Day 2017.  Setup starts at 0900L.  There will be some who arrive earlier.  Bring gloves and other appropriate safety gear for antenna work. 




38.420437    -76.547756    seems to be the Google Maps location for Field Day.  


The street address is 4080 School Road, Broomes Island, MD 20615


Turn off Route 2/4 East on Broomes Island road at the light.  Continue to the post office on the left then turn right on Church Street.  Go one  short block to School Road.  The Community Center will be on the left.  It's a former wooden school house.  There is paved parking beside the building.


Again, if you plan to have breakfast early Sunday morning, I would like to have a rough headcount for that.  I'm thinking of breakfast burritos and coffee and juice.  


Band conditions on 20 and 40 are better than earlier this spring but still not optimal.  There have been recent 10, 6. and 2 meter openings also.  It will make this an interesting Field Day. 


The weather forecast for Saturday is high of 85F and with rain(66% chance) and a thunderstorm.  Sunday looks sunny (9% chance of rain) with a high of 83.  We'll keep our eyes to the sky to watch for lightning hazards.
