On the "serious concern" thread running -- I've got
a NRD-525 here. First used one as merchant marine R/O
and now that have "swallowed the anchor", got one of
my
own. Best rcvr I ever had aboard ship.
   Anyway, couple months ago we had a lightning hit
nearby (live in Florida - the lightning capital of the
world) and it ate up the front end of my 525. I called
the ham store with the multipage ads in QST thats
located in Atlanta (plus other cities) where I got
mine from concerning service. They referred me to a
shop there in Atlanta and they took it in. First class
repair job, reasonable price, fast service, they
seemed to know their business. Call the store in
Atlanta and they'll tell you about it. If unable to
get info, QSO me and I'll check my records and get the
name/address of the shop posted.
