Dear Folks,
The ergonomics of the JRC's are legendary, but their sound was always
utilitarian, mufffled, and I personally had the 515 and 525 and I hated their sound.
The 535 was better but the Drake's ran circles around them sound wise.
Performance was the same as the Drake line, which I still have as a R8B and also
the Ten-Tec RX-340 which is fantastic and the best of the tabletop under
$5000.00 group. It probably is the best in any price group as the government is not
concerned with SWL and sound quality.
The 545 is the best receiver under $2000.0, while the the Drake R8B is the
best under $1500.00 in over all performance.
Dxing is one thing, listening quality is a whole new ball game for program
listeners like myself...
