Hello Bob,
and thanks for replying!
Unfortunately I haven't a copy of the installation instruction, I bought
the radio used and all I got was the instruction manual of the rig, and
there I can't find anything useful. I also thought there is some switch or
something similar to tell the radio the unit is there, but don't know where
I have to look. It could also be a software setting, and so I tried
resetting the radio but with no fortune....if you should ever find
something useful please let me know, I am too lazy to bring the radio back
to service only for this little inconvenient...
The monitor unit itself is useful but not too often, IMHO... I used it
during contests, for two reasons: the first is just a "comfort" one, after
several hours I prefer to hear my voice, because when I'm tired helps me
staying awake HI.
The second one, even if I never tried it, is to record the full contest,
together with the report you gave to the other station....it makes easier
the post-contest operations.
And, of course, setting the tx audio level is really straightforward, even
if you still have to care to not overload the amplifier...so, it's
worthwhile depending on the use it will have and of the price...
Thanks, 73
