  I have a '245 with the monitor unit (CMF-144), which I don't usually use 
during normal operations.
Some time ago I turned on the radio and wanted to try it, so I pushed the 
MONI button. The led lights on, but no monitor audio is heard at all in the 
phones (or in the speaker). Trying to change the monitor volume level 
doesn't change the situation.
Some time ago I brought the radio to service for a check, and maybe there 
they forgot to turn some switch on?
I'd like to know if there is a simple way to get the monitor audio back 
again (a microswitch inside the radio, for example, or something similar) 
without bringing the radio back to service...
