[Johnson] Looking for resources and possibly some help . . .

The first thing you MUST do is check to see if the plug with the jumpers is
in the back octal socket. If not, the HV is not going to your tubes
Next.. Check all the tubes
Next.. check to see if you have all voltages you need. You can download the
manual which will tell you what those voltages are.
If you have only $50 invested you have done good. If you have to put $300 in
it to get it going, you are still ahead of the game. Have you seen
what the current prices of Rangers are?
That plug in the back is the first thing

Good to see you here. There is an archive of past posts at:
http://mailman.qth.net/pipermail/johnson/
This list does not seem to have an archive of files or
pictures but you may find some help by searching the mail archive
by thread or subject.
I found a bunch of stuff via a Google search, an example is
https://faculty.frostburg.edu/phys/latta/ee/ranger/restoration/restoration.html
Might be helpful. Also don't forget to search YouTube, the google
search showed some videos there.
As with most equipment the first thing to check is the power
supply.
You need a VOM and its helpful to have a good scope (IMO the
single most powerful trouble shooting tool). A general coverage
receiver is helpful.
Mostly patience.
