Hi Bob, a most interesting writeup. I read your original post but didn't have a whole lot to contribute then and not much now. I had a Pacemaker about 35 years ago and don't have much in the way of memories as I didn't have it long. The main reason for that is that the final, or perhaps the final/driver was unstable and prone to taking off. My skills back then were probably wanting but it wasn't the typical neutralization issue but something more involved. I did note this rig was tedious to work on and audio distortion was too high for my taste. Of course I only had the manual to go on and no idea there were a couple of later updates Johnson provided.
Anyway, good luck with it.
Pete

I picked up a nice clean Ranger yesterday except for the large holes in the
top; I suppose for alignment access. Is there a preferred solution or
solutions to put the top back to normal?
Thanks in advance, gary

Hi Gary,
I can't imagine why anybody would knock holes in the top when the Ranger
comes out of the cabinet so easily for the little bit of alignment there
is (and once in a blue moon). I am thinking you will have to buy "hole
plugs" of the appropriate size and maybe paint them to make them less
conspicuous. If you are able you could make your own holes plugs.

I may JB Weld the holes and red roll to match the pattern.

I wonder if anyone might have a schematic for the Johnson 10 watt Audio
Amplifier, model no. 250-33?
Thanks and 73,
