How about using the stock switch to power an AC SSR, switching the hot AC lead as a conventional AC power switch would? This would be a double-win IMO, as it would also be taking much if the stress off that mechanical switch.

Subject: [Johnson] Invader Switch
Has anyone come up with an elegant method turning off the AC on an
Invader without using the operating switch. Since the AC on VFO heater
resistor is always on even when the operates switch is in the off
position just using an outlet strip to turn off the AC will also turn
off the heater. I would like to find a method that would not involve a
lot of rewiring.

There are two possible outcomes: if the result confirms the hypothesis, then you've made a measurement.
If the result is contrary to the hypothesis, then you've made a discovery.
