Miswired maybe? It goes across the full secondary and is not attached to the
CT. Easy to get confused in that area.
It is just an audio cap so anything should work if it isnt leaky. Orange
drops are now mostly made in China.
I use a pair of .01 2KV Cebtralab discs that were built as vibrator buffer
caps some decades ago.
