Some assistance with an old Ranger (ti's a very early one w/o the keying module or the modulator bias supply), please...

first, when i acquired the transmitter, the meter shield was loose (there were some issues with the meter). in trying to reinstall it, the modulation transfomrer interfers with the shield and it can't be attached properly. the panel is perpendicular to the chassis and the modulation transformer appears to be original. am i overlooking something? any tricks?

secondly, one of the indicator light jewels that helps to attach the dial assy. to the panel was missing and one of the 9/32" x 27 nuts is missing (try finding one of those now) from the one that came with the tranmitter (probably left off by a well intentioned previous owner). is anyone aware of a source from those things or an alternate solution? i've got an indicator light that fits in the hole but the threads are not sufficiently long to fit through the dial assy. and the panel so it won't be much help mechanically. also, just curious, was there no indicator bulb for both of the jewels? there is a bulb that illuminates when the "phone" or "cw" is selected on the tune operate switch but nothing for the other one. am i missing something here?

any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
