Hi,

This is getting a little far off topic but still addresses some issues
that we face with our hobby. Most manuals now for older gear are in PDF
(or other digital) format. This is not a Windows vs Mac vs Linux
discussion as there are means on all of the machines to do any of the
tricks. The how-to details are on *other* lists. Some of us are more
comfortable with computers and some have IT (information technology)
experience that we can use to help our friends who want to play with
their radios instead of playing with their computers.

I was pleased to see that John (the OP) already had everything he needed
by the time I posted my offer of help. Radio hobbyists should feel free
to ask for help right here if they need such help. We can plainly see
that it arrived *immediately* <grin>.
