I am a little puzzled, Acrobat reader is readily
available free and will run in most Windows or Mac machines.
There are numerous programs which will produce PDF from
anything printable but I don't know of any freeware ones
that allow editing of existing PDF. I looked at Open Office
but it seems not to be able to read existing PDF files
although it will generate them.
