[Johnson] FS: JOHNSON RANGER-1

I have a functional Johnson Navigator CW transmitter which I'd like to
make some improvements to.

First and simplest, the cabinet is badly scratched and needs
repainted. I know this has been discussed before, but I've lost record
of what paint to use. What is recommended?

Second, I'd like to get rid of the dangerous 2-fuse power plug. This
requires putting a fuse holder on the back panel, and the only place I
see for it there is in place of the antenna relay power jack (ehich I
don't need). Even that is uncomfortably close to the 6146 socket. Any ideas?

Third, the front panel is in decent shape but is somewhat dirty/faded.
What can I use to clean/polish it? This transmitter is not "collector
quality" as long ago I added a spring-loaded front panel switch that
keys the transmitter and removes the final screen voltage, this being
superior to the original "zero" switch position as is does not slightly
move the osc. frequency and avoids the need to switch from transmit to
standby. I also replaced the defective original meter with a different
type needing a slightly larger panel hole. So, I am not looking to make
money selling the transmitter, just making it safe and not an eyesore.

Long ago I replaced the two rectifier tubes with silicon diodes.
