Install a proper 3-wire cord. Attach the GROUND wire to the chassis.
Remove any large caps from the AC line to ground.
Remove any dir3ct connections from AC lines to the cahssis (shouldn;t be
any...)
Install cartridge FUSES from both sides of the AC line to the line
cord. (you can mount these under the chassis in some snap-in
cartridge fuse holders. )
Everything will be far safer that way. I did this to every Valiant or
Ranger that I have owned and it works wonders.
