Hi Roger;  Thanks for that tip. I will try it.
I never thought about that  I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, 
but I learn more each day.
I'm afraid I am one of those that fell into the newer manufactured rig 
way of ham radio.with auto tune & all that.
I became more of an operator and stopped thinking for myself.
I have really enjoyed rebuilding my R-390A and now the Valiant.  They 
are both up and running great
I have a lot more satisfaction from doing that.
But I decided to get back to my first love, The old Boat anchors & build 
your own ant. and Dip & Load.
I'm one of the old timers and I have forgotten much of what i learned 
early in life I will let you know how it works out
