        Hi, Ed,

What's the plate current doing when you advance the grid current?  If the 
plate circuit is off resonance it could cause the fuse to blow when you 
bring up the grid. I usually make sure I get the plate circuit close before 
bringing up the grid. Then you can complete loading the transmitter as long 
as you keep the plate circuit dipped as the last adjustment.
