[Johnson] Messenger II info?

I rescued a very nice looking Messenger II from my local thrift store.  It's
very hard for me to not take home such a nice unit that appears so complete
and is in such fine condition.

 

That said, I went to Google looking for some info on this unit but there was
only a miniscule of info on the II.    

 

Is there a web site or forum I've missed?  Are these units only good (ham
use) for salvaging some parts and tubes?

 

Any help will be appreciated.
