[Johnson] Desk KW fan

Craig,

Thanks and I also have a Viking 500 but since I have one dead fan I only
have 4 live ones to worry about. I have kept all of the fans lubricated
and it does spin freely so I am guessing it is just a fault of the old
enamel type insulation used on the winding; I guess since it is 54 years
old is shouldn't be too much of a surprise. By the way, I have been
using a high temperature rated synthetic oil that is designed for the
"purge" blowers in the dual heat exchanger heating systems. I had a
tough time finding this oil and when I did I had to buy a small case of
it which is far more than my two home heating systems will ever need and
it is a high quality lube designed for blower motors so it should be OK
for these motors.

These motors are clockwise rotation with a 1/8" shaft and 2" OC
mounting. Most current fan motors have a 3/16" shaft and 1 7/8 OC
mounting. If I find a source of new I will post it here.

Just checked the manual and my Thunderbolt has 2 of the same spec motor
also, grrr!
