[Johnson] Paint Overcoat

One thing you can do if you can settle for a satin finish. I noticed years
ago that polyurethane actually cures based on moisture in the air. I
wondered if using a fine mist from a plant sprayer would enhance that. My
late 'puppy' Sophie (13 years of the sweetest Golden Retriever you could ask
for) liked to climb the sofa and get into the dormer window ledge to look
out the window. This was scratching the clear finish of the wood pretty
badly, so I figured "Why not?" and put a seriously thick coat of
satin-finish polyurethane on it (it was horizontal so this was easy.) Then I
misted it with water. Multiple times as it evaporated/whatever over several
hours, and then several times a day for a couple of days. Result: no more
scratches, and the hardest paint finish I ever touched-including (at least
to the touch) epoxy paint.

Hardest part was keeping Sophie off the ledge.

Do you know if anyone makes a clear epoxy in a spray can? I would like
something a little more durable than Krylon if possible.
