Bruce,

After you find those little spring clips and get that Valiant back together,
try this. I think the cabinet is like the Rangers with small holes above the
VFO, across the top, and maybe the sides.

Find a hobby shop in your area and see what size (diameter) piano wire they
have. This stuff is tempered spring wire and with the correct size will fit
thru one of the existing holes without enlarging it. Bend a small 90 degree
on one end, the other end a larger 90 degree bend. Stick the small 90 thru a
cabinet ventilation hole on top which will let you adjust the VFO while the
rig is at operating temperature and the cabinet in place.

No need for drilling or blasting to get the VFO close. I use a digital
frequency counter to monitor while on the air. So after getting the VFO
close enough for government work the piano wire spends most of its time in
the tool box.

craig

Hello fellow Boat Anchors,

I was just working on the Valiant, and need two of those little spring clip
things that go on the VFO calibrating capacitors inside the box on the
insulated screw things through the top.
The rig came with two missing, so I have to adjust one band, then take it
apart to move the springy things, then adjust the next...what a pain.

Gladly pay for what you ask....any spare pieces out there to be had?

TIA 73's Bruce WA3MKC
