Make sure that the keyer circuit is getting a good ground return.  Mine 
relied upon the mechanical connection thru the standoffs for the ground, and it was 
not a good enough connection for reliable operation.  I ended up running an 
additional wire up to the keyer chassis ground point (low filament terminal I 
believe) from a ground lug under the main chassis.
