there is no doubt that the safest thing is 3 wire cord for 12O v sets.. with
the green ground wire bonded to the chassis, and a polarized plug with the
hot ( black) and neutral ( white) wires.... going where they should go.
Remember most of the wall plugs in the United States were wired by some
species of moron or other not an actual electrician - and the hot-neutral
wires are often reversed in the OUTLET.
use your handy neon light or volt meter to test...
voltage appears between hot and ground in good system.
Now... the two different fuse values... a low value slow blow and high value
fast blow.. so exactly what their names suggest.
Protect against long term overcurrent, and short term extreme over current
in a way that protects the powertransformer from becoming smoked unobtanium.
16 guage might be ok for a ranger.. but for a valiant... I wouldnt want
anything less than 14 guage.
Voltage drop is a serious issue for carrier shift, osc stability, mod
quality, and field mouse elimination.
