   Thanks Ed - I kinda figgered that the multiple-cap strings (C38 and C39 
for ex.) were for current-sharing - I have replaced them with 2-unit 
strings - maybe this is not enough.

   I'm thinking that some IR-thermometer spy-work might reveal if I'm 
suffering from dielectric heating - seems quite plausible.
