Speaking from a Ranger standpoint (same VFO and mechanics)

There should be a hole in the chassis that will give you access to the VFO 
coupling.

If can coax the dial and VFO capacitor into some semblance of alignment, you 
might get lucky and not have to take the whole darned mess apart again.
