Hello Cecil,

You are on the R-390A mail reflector too! Good to see another Junkston
collector. Not as much traffic on this reflector, but it never hurts to ask
for help and or parts.

Good to hear another Ranger is going to be saved from the trash pile. There
were many of those transmitters manufactured by EF Johnson and parts might
not be too hard to come by. I've never owned one, but have noticed lots of
mods for that little transmitter. Push to talk, was one I think. One item
just about everyone changes on the Johnsons is a 18K resistor in the VFO
section. Need to increase the wattage on that 18K to 5 watts or better. If
not the melt down is not pleasant.
