Hi.
It appears that "next time" I have the Viking Ranger (original model) out of
it's case I need to change the socket for the antenna relay. The present
porcelain one is badly chipped away around it's edges. (last time I plugged
in the relay a big ol' chip came out).
Anyway, these "appear" to be an ordinary porcelain "Crystal sockets" of
which I have a number of from old scrapped gear. Is this indeed the case?
(I haven't compared the "backside" of the sockets yet). Last time I had it
open a cursory examination gave me the impression that these are a 'bear" to
get in to replace (My Ranger has a chassis mount Fuse holder located close
to the line cord entrance, put there by some former owner).
ALSO, what is "usually" used as a plug to fit into these Relay sockets?
Mine is a homebrew device somebody scrapped together and is probably the
cause the socket cracking.
73 from the "Beaconeers Lair".
