Hi.
I've been using the Johnson Ranger/Hammarlund HQ-110, primarily on 10M AM
and really enjoying this little rig. However, I've noticed that on most
bands this thing tunes/loads significantly differently than the chart in the
Ranger owners manual says it should. They say minor variances are normal,
but some of these aren't so minor. (And for testing purpose I'm using a 50
Ohm "dummy" so antenna impedance shouldn't be a factor)
Here's what I'm seeing, the first number is "factory setting", the 2nd is
what
I have to set it for to meet the tuning specs. As you can see, some are
close,
others are off by quite a bit, particularly loading.. Top end of 160 I
haven't tried tuning yet and as I
"already" had the new numbers for 10M I didn't copy the "factory setting" to
this
chart for that band. I DID NOT do tuning charts for 11M as there isn't any
need for it.
