[Johnson] Viking 500 Mods?

Bob,

Not pertaining to Rangers, I'm looking for information on the Viking 500.
Have you run across any information as to modifications? WA1HLR of course
has one on the audio improvements and it is the only one I've found to date.

The original owners manual for the 500 I'm trying to get back on the air is
still packed away in a box. The person I bought it from was in the process
of moving.....so I'm using a copy from BAMA.

My power supply seems to follow the BAMA schematic, but the RF deck has some
shiny solder joints around the crystal oscilator V103 and keyer V107 and
these new mods sure don't follow the BAMA schematic! Didn't buy it for CW,
and will more than likely restore to original keyer circuit. But, still
would like to know if someone made a better mouse trap for the Johnson.

So, has anything surfaced in your search??
