Those are capacitors that are placed in parallel with
a smaller variable capacitor for the purpose of
antenna loading.  You should not have any problems
going with the standard values available today.

I do not recommend replacing the 6146 / 6146A series
in the Valiant with 6146B tubes.  You might get away
with it and you might not.  The articles about the
6146 family that were in Electric Radio a couple of
years ago and in the CCA bulletin earlier this year
can be found on either of the websites that are listed
at the end of this message.
