Yesterday my Viking Valiant went up in smoke. I think I caught it early
enough not to do much damage.

The only apparent destruction was the silver mica's from the band switch to
ground. There are four of the 150 uuf. two in parallel and then series.
the same with the 350uuf.

Well I guess if they are 5% tolerance I can retrofit them with 160uuf and
360uuf I can't find 150 and 350 respectfully.

My question is, could this due to its age ?????
Could there be another seen problem lurking , maybe finals ?????

I know there are a number of 6146 tubes out there. Is there advantage to
replacing them with the 6146B. I seem to ember that there was a different
bias on them. I also remember 6146 W, 6146A and I think the military 6146R
(rugged)
