Hi Greg,
    I was in QSO with W2AMI at the time, running abt 150 watts into a
matchbox, with an SWR of 1:1 at the end on the Valiant.

It maybe that my dowkey relay was humming a different tune and let go.

It wasn;'t real bad, the smoke detectors didn't go off.

What I first noticed was there was NO power output on the Watt meter. I then
turned and noticed the Valiant smoking.  I don't know if it enjoyed it.
However, it's sure old enough. HI HI
