[Johnson] Restoring a Ranger

Since I couldn't get any takers on the Johnson Ranger trade for Collins 
equip, I am going to restore the Ranger.

First things first, are the plastic strips that hold the air coil in 
position available, hand makeable, or do I need a whole new air coil? 
 The old spacers are deteriorated from age and are falling apart.

Second, does anyone sell the paint used on the case, the dark maroon, in 
a spray can package?

Are there any modifications I should consider if I am to use this 
transmitter for CW and for AM?  I will be using a Collins 75S-1 for the 
receiver.
