Hi Steve,

Sounds like to me that you have the Viking Model 250-31 Grid Block Keying
Module installed. It is on a small chassis that is supposed to be installed
on a couple of metal spacers. There is a 12AU7 and a 100K pot mounted on it.
The chassis has two side lips but no ends.

I have a Factory wired II that the owner changed the power socket on the rear
chassis to a 9 pin also. I have no idea why. He told me about it when I
bought it from him at a hamfest, but I neglected to ask why he made the
change. He did give me the old socket and shield and my intention it to
reverse the mod one day. I have never had time to get into the rig so I am
not sure if the keying mod is in there or not. I bought the mod kit
separately for another rig.

The power rating on R-13 and R-28 is 50 watts. R-13 is the high voltage
bleeder resistor. Something spilled on my schematic, but it appears the R-28
is employed to chenge the final screen viltage in the CW mode.

Good luck and keep one hand in your pocket!.

John, W4AWM
