I have just acquired a Viking II that was factory wired. It appears to
be one of the later versions with V28.
The 20K ohm variable wire wound resistor (R13) is open as is the 20K
wire wound fixed (R28). The documentation does not give the power
rating of either resistor.
Also when I went to plug in my VFO in noticed the 8 pin socket was now a
9 pin "octal type" It was wired completely different and was connected
to an undocumented add on circuit. This circuit appears to be a
professional add on and contains a 12AU7 tube, pot, all mounted on a
nice bracket above the crystal sockets. I imagine this is an after
market piece.
Any help with the above would be greatly appreciated. I am new the
Johnson family, well I did own an Adventurer in the 50's, and any help
for restoration resources would be a great help. The local electronics
distributor would not have any high voltage caps or wire wounds etc..
