Norm: Interesting suggestion, and thanks for the nice answer.

Do they actually set a box over the hole where the 2-wire cord protrudes, or
mount it elsewhere on the rear panel, or ???  If they have to take the
Valiant out of its case, how do they deal with the box?

Hi Dave,

One of the listers (or maybe more than one) have suggested using an external
box to hold the fuse holder wired in series with a 3 conductor cord and with
no extra holes.  It has also been suggested that an on-off power switch be
included to reduce use of the power switch function within the Valiant.  I
suppose you could mount a socket for the IEC instrument cord in the box as
well.

The reason for all of the filters was the very real problem of TVI back in
the 50's.  If you ever expect to sell your Valiant, then it will be more
valuable if you don't make any mods that change the original panel or rear
apron.  That's your call, of course.
