Brian, one thing you might look at is continuity through the bandswitch
contacts that select the proper amount of inductance from the PA coil. I
could be the loading problem is related to incorrect values of inductance
instead of too much capacitance.

Ranger II Has to much loading capacitance. Loads great on 160 and 10. I have
changed out all coupling caps. Modulator Bias Caps (15uf). I Can Disconnect
All coupling caps from circuit and get a little better dip around 150 mills
but this is the lowest. I have checked the shunt resistor for the meter and
it is fine. Looking on the scope in the 80 meter position looks as if there
are 2 carriers. 160 there is not.
Also Why do the have the final capacitor isolated above ground but grounding
it at the 6146. Could these little insulated washers be conducting. They
look good but have not removed and replace. Also I can unhook the antenna
and on 160 I can dip almost to nothing. On 75 with out an antenna hooked up
I can not get to dip below
100 mills. All thoughts and Ideas are greatly appreciated. VFO is stable
as a rock. Also changed the 100 ohm resistor at the cap of the 6146 as the
old one was open.
