[Johnson] 3B28 make sense.

Hi Larry:
Thanks for the response but I think there is a slight flaw in this
argument. Let me offer a reason on each count:

In the configuration that the 866 s/s units are in, I believe that HV
is only applied when you key the key or mic. In the Val, you already
have the circuits warmed up before you hit these guys with h.v
(unlike most other s/s conversion apps when you turn on the rig and
h.v. is "right there" like in rx's and other transmitters). You don't
need balancing resistors, bypass caps, etc. I think these are built
into the commericially made 866's anyways.

Additionally, isn't the modulators and finals powered by a separate
h.v. circuit? Finally, you have the benefit of slightly higher h.v.
than what would be normally found with 3B28's. 



 And for what ?

Reliability and (albiet smaller) lesser power draw
