[Johnson] Johnson Viking Navigator - Dial Problem

I have experience the problem with the stiff vfo knob/dial.
The problem is that the lubrication in the vernier has dried out.
Take the dial loose from the VFO shaft... be carefull not to break the
insulated coupling that is line with the VFO cap. shaft.

When you get it apart you will find a rather large brass vernier housing.  It 
looks almost like a solid piece.... however it is actually in two parts that 
screw together.
I put mine in a vice and used a protected pipe wrench to separate the two 
halfs.

Be care fully as it is filled with ball bearings and grease that has probably 
dried out.

Once you get it apart, cleaned and re greased the tension of the vernier 
drive will be determined on how tightly you put the two part back together...
