Dear Ron,

I have a Valiant now. I had one years ago, as well as a Viking 500, and I
also had an Adventurer.
In fact I built an Adventurer from a kit.

The Johnson VFO dials are all the same.

1) Remove the rig from the case.

2) Take the knob off.

3) Remove the pointer. It also has a set screw.

4) The vfo tube and the regulator tube are inside the VFO compartment.

5) Take off the left side of the compartment. It is an aluminum plate.

6) Now you will have access to lubricate, check, etc.

7) If necessary you can remove the dial from the front panel by removing the
nuts behind the front panel.

Good luck!!
