good morning  men
my ranger has a weird little problem that I need some advice on.

The vfo works fine, drifts down a little, but otherwise stable after
about a 20 minute warmup.

With a crystal, it works fine also, nice and stable HOWEVER,
when you unkey the transmitter after making a transmission,
or tuning up, or whatever, when you unkey, the oscillator continues
to run, with a signal strong enough to blank the frequency you
are on, rendering it impossible to hear whoever y our talking to.
Sometimes, after 20-30 seconds, it will drop out on its own. But
othertimes, it never does, and you have to manually turn the switch
back to the vfo, then back to crystal, and it will drop out, until
you key up then unkey again, when you have to do it all over
again.

anyone have any idea's on this?
