[Johnson] Valiant neutralization

I am having a real problem trying to neutralize my Valiant.  Following =
the suggestions in the manual, I have gone over the procedure time and =
again and still can't find a point where there is little or no change in =
grid current as the final is changed.  As I adjust the neut. cap, the =
change has been miniscule so I don't think I'm missing the "spot."  I =
have tried 6146 and 6146A's.  Has anyone run into this problem?  Any =
ideas would be appreciated.
