Hi Joe: Thanks for the log sheets. I'll put them with the offical W2AN files and await the always to follow QSL card requests. Glad you had a good time and thanks for putting 2AN on-the-air in such a fine fashion. Hope to have the new AWA station putting fire in the wire pretty soon. 73 and thanks again, Joe.

  Gentlemen,

Please find attached my AWA, W2AN log sheet operated here at W3GMS. What a wonderful time I had operating W2AN from the W3GMS studio's.

We had a great list of check-in's and it appeared everyone was having a great time. The honors go to Jerry, W1ZB for running the oldest transmitter which was an 1939 Hallicrafters HT-9 that he restored awhile back and it sounded great! Bill Fizette attempted to get his restored Globe Chief 90 on, but last minute snags prevented that from happening. He quickly switched to his trusty Johnson Ranger and was putting out a great signal.

Bill, K1BF from Maine was putting out a great signal with his vintage Millen gear. With the pair of 812's in the final his signal from Maine was very good. Doug, WA3DSP was using a homebrew 813 rig that Bob Dennison, W2HBE (SK) built a number of years ago. Bob sure knew how to build great sounding transmitters. Ray, KA3EKH had an outstanding signal using his converted RCA BTA-1 broadcast transmitter. The largest stock amateur transmitter was a Collins KW-1 owned and operated by John, WB2NEW.

It was indeed an honor to use the W2AN call and its an experience I will not forget.

  What fun!

  73,
  Joe, W3GMS
