  All y'all,

Attached is a copy of my log for W1HRX's operation in last weekend's AWA AM QSO Party. As you will see, I operated on 20, 75 and 40, all with my National NTX-30 transmitter and its companion NSM modulator into a SB-200 linear amplifier, with between 100 and 200 watts into the antenna depending upon the band. The NTX-30 has a bit of history connected to it. It first belonged to Gene Sims who was James Millen's personal assistant both at National and at the James Millen Company. It passed from Gene to John Nagle, then to Bill Fizette, and finally to me. My receiver was my original Novice receiver, an HRO-50.

On 20 meters I was using a vertical half wave doublet, center fed with open wire line. I had just gotten it back up after winter storm damage only about an hour and a half before the Party. It got me QSO's in CA, TX, Iowa, OH, Pittsburg, Caribou Crossing, Yukon, Calgary, Alberta, TN, Vancouver Island, BC, NV, MI, GA, FL, and Maine. I think it was doing pretty well, and it was well worth the effort to get it going again.

In all I made 16 QSOs on 20, 7 on 75, and 4 on 40. Many were non-AWA members, but they were at least exposed to the Party and may become more interested in it in the future.

  73,

  Jim, W8KGI

                Gents:

Thank you all for volunteering to be a Flagship Station in the coming AWA AM QSO Party. You help is much appreciated!!

Here is what we need from each of you for your log:
A list of the stations that contacted you.
It would help Lynn to have the date, time, band and anything else you feel is appropriate.
Also: The date, time, and band for the time that you were on the air as W2AN or W1HRX.

I hope that is not too much to ask for. If you miss a few calls, don't sweat it, the object is to have a good time.

                Thanks and have fun!
                See you on AM

                Tim
