Hello to all,
I am probably the newest member of the JMS and would like to introduce myself to the group.
My name is Bill and the call is K1BF. I hale from Maine and operate a Millen 90881 presently driven by a Lysco 500 on 160 and 80 Meters regularly. I have both a 90800 which is stock and a 90881 which is defiantly not stock.
The 90800 is going to need a lot of help as did the 90881. I muddled through the 90881 project quite successfully despite the fact that it had no coils and was severely "hacked' when I got it. I have to say that it works very well now and looks quite original after a complete striping and etc.
Back to the 90801. It has had the final tank modified to cover 80 meters only with a Pi net. There is a different arrangement on the panel for the oscillator which has been very professionally done with an engraved panel overlaying the original band switch and tuning cap area. It is engraved with frequency ranges rather than specific bands on the band switch and resonance areas on the tuning cap. I know this piece came from Malden, Mass so it may have been a prototype or perhaps a factory mod.
I need some info on the tank values, particularly the value of L3&4 and L8&9 to restore this piece.
It is my intention to use the 90800 with new coils etc to drive my 90881 SN500 on 160 and the 90801 to drive my other 90881 SN501 on the other bands as I have all the coils for the newer deck and it is stock.
If anyone could help me with the 90801 I would be very grateful. The pictures on the JMS web page have given me a good start.
If it is any help the SN of the 90801 is 254.
Thanks, Bill
