The seperate speech amplifier (actually a 50 watt modulator) is an EICO 730.  The output transformer has taps from 500  to 10,000 ohms.  I am not sure, but I think the impedance at the grids of the 811As is around 8-10,000 ohms, but I could be way off base there.  Anyway, I plan to drive the 811As with this really nifty speech amp.  I will check out the EL34 sources and acquire several ASAP. Will keep you informed. Regards to all the JMS members!
