Subject: [Louisville Hamfest] Space Orders Ending Soon
Only 12 days left to reserve your Indoor Spaces at the Louisville Hamfest.
Keep in mind the deadline to order spaces is Thursday, September 1 - and
that includes online reservations. That's also the deadline for ticket
orders, unless you order them online. Online ticket ordering at
http://store.louisvillehamfest.com (got the address right this time) will
continue through 6:00pm, Saturday, September 6.
It's hard to believe GLH-2016 is just 22 days away. Our team has been
working on this year's hamfest since October of last year. It's been an
exciting journey and worth every step. There have been a lot of people
involved - beyond the GLHA Team.
A very special "thank you" goes out to Alan Morgan KY1O, our ARRL Kentucky
Section Manager, for his tireless work in organizing the ARRL Kentucky State
Convention portion of GLH-2016. Dale Williams WA8EFK, our ARRL Great Lakes
Division Director, also worked for the Convention, mainly for arranging the
ARRL Headquarters Representative to speak at the hamfest.
Locally, Buddy Sohl KC4WQ has been organizing the presentation and the cast
for the Wouff Hong Ceremony. There is still time to sign up at
http://louisvillehamfest.com/wouffhong.htm to be sure we will have a
certificate prepared for your ROWH honors. Buddy wrote a brief article in
May, which can be found at
http://kyham.net/news/2016/05/11/rowh-amateur-radios-secret-society/.
We also want to thank the Kentucky DX Association for the combined
KYDXA-GLHA sponsorship for Hal Turley W8HC and the forum on his recent K5P
DXpedition to Palmyra Atoll. Both organizations will be donating to Hal's
next DXpedition, which will be in early 2018.
And, of course, we need to thank everyone who is part of GLH-2016 - Paroquet
Springs Conference Centre Staff, Merchants, Volunteers and Participants.
Like any Amateur Radio event - storm spotting, contesting, emergency
communications, nets - it's a combined effort on every ham's part to make
any event successful. This year's hamfest is the largest in over a decade
and the success of the event depends on ALL local area hams in Kentucky and
Indiana.
Come out to take advantage of this year's exciting and event-filled hamfest.
We'll have a lot to see, a lot to buy and a whole lot of friends and hams
joining in the action. Help us welcome Lt. Gov. Jenean M. Hampton K5EIB,
ARRL Headquarters Chief Technology Officer Brennan Price N4QX and all the
other ARRL Representatives to let them know how excited we are about Amateur
Radio.
We know this will be a great hamfest this year and we invite each and every
one of you to join us for the fun!
