Thanks for the new info. I am sharing this w/the locals.
I didn't think about echo link.
I suggested to the locals that we listen to your repeater's input freq w/your repeaters pl programmed into the receiver so that when he keys up we will be able to hear him & hopefully get a beam heading &/or a call sign, since we are closer to the suspected source.
I just remembered fingerprinting the signal to match up w/known IDed signals.
Different hams are yakking about a mystery "A" beacon heard on 28.209 MC, on 1 of the ham beacon reflectors that I subscribe to.
Very interesting indeed.
Several years ago, we had a weird thing going down on 2Ms around here.
It was a spur that was heard on different 2M freqs/repeaters & sounded like a PD dispatcher, but it was hard to pin down because it kept walking up/down the 2M band.
Finally, Jim-W9MAQ heard the same signal on a ham freq & on Lake Station PD's freq while monitoring a scanner & a 2M rig.
