Are you planning to buy new or are you looking for a used radio?

How do you plan to use the radio?

Since you mention "mobile", I assume you will be using it in your car 
rather than at home as a "base" unit. Is that correct?

If mobile, have you thought about how you are going to install the radio?

If mobile, will you normally be driving in a large city with lots of RF noise?

What bands do you think you need?

Some VHF/UHF mobile radios are actually two radios and can receive on 
both bands simultaneously while others can only receive one band at a 
time. Does simultaneous receive interest you?

Some VHF/UHF mobile radios can be programmed by computer while some 
cannot. This is a handy feature if you have lots of memories you want 
to manage. Does this feature interest you?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but your answers can help narrow 
down the list of possible candidates.
