I agree. It seems that the only options for renewing Indiana amateur 
radio plates are to do it by mail and hope the new plate arrives 
before the old plate expires or go to the branch where they will 
issue a temporary plate until you receive the new plate in the mail.

In my case, I had to change my address on the vehicle registration, 
so my only option was to go to the branch. I hope my new plate 
arrives before the temporary plate expires.

What really aggravates me about this is that the state keeps issuing 
new amateur radio plates each year. It's a wasteful practice when all 
they need to do is send out a new year sticker for the plate. That's 
what they do for normal passenger car plates, so I don't know why 
they can't do it for amateur radio plates.
